January 26,2010

Italy is not just home to the Vatican City and the birthplace of the mouthwatering pizza. This country has been the throne for many powerful rulers; from the Etruscans and Byzantine rulers in ancient Rome to the early Popes in the medieval era. As a result, Italy is a land of subtle contrasts.

Rome – the Eternal City is a bustling capital brimming with history in the form of its countless chapels, piazzas, and monuments. The Vatican is a beautiful citadel rich in treasures and religious implication as it’s the seat of the Holy Pope. The Pantheon and Saint Peter’s Basilica are breathtaking to say the very least. The Roman Coliseum that now lies in ruins as a result of earthquakes stands as a lasting tribute to the magnificent arena where hundreds were killed in gory sporting events to entertain emperors. The Trevi Fountain is also another aquatic delight you wouldn’t want to miss!

To any tourist, a trip to Italy would be insignificant without a visit to Rome. But again, if you’re looking to spend time with your partner in a dreamy locale, then Venice is the place to be! Idyllic and incredibly romantic, the City of Canals has a lot to boast about – from scenic gondola rides along the waterways to picturesque bridges and inviting cafés on the banks of the canals.

For enthusiastic intellectuals or leisurely art admirers, Florence is a living museum. The Renaissance Capital of the World is interspersed with galleries and museums making it the heart of Italian architecture. Milan on the other hand, can be rightly called a cultural and social hub, which has guided Italian thought and philosophy for centuries.

Moving on to Italian cuisine, Pizza, which means ‘pie’ in Italian, was originally a common specialty for the lower-class population of Italy. Other classic Italian specialties, such as pasta and spaghetti are a staple in most Italian food joints. A traditional Italian meal would begin with pasta, minestrones, or risottos cooked in a soup, followed by some form of meat and vegetables cooked with a local authentic flavor accompanied by wine. Of course, who can forget the scrumptious Italian desserts such as the chocolaty tiramisu!

The people in Italy are colorful and exciting and have a zesty passion for food, art, and life! A day or two of sightseeing is not enough to fully appreciate this fascinating country, which is a cornerstone for modern civilization. But, to enjoy Italy to the fullest in the few days that you travel, make sure you book your tour with PerilloTours, who are legends in providing best tours to Italy since 1945.

On the second half of the Perillo Travel Show, Everett Potter talks about his Everett Potter Travel Report and what people can expect from this report. He says that his report focuses more on five star experiences than on five star places.

Everett Potter Potter also answers the five critical questions a traveler must ask before an adventure travel trip. According to him the most important question that travelers must ask themselves when going on an adventure trip is how fit they are.

Potter is of the opinion that before any journey it is essential to find out how long the travel company has been in business. He talks about several ways to check the credibility of the company.

Travel insurance is another mandatory item on the checklist. He feels that a couple of hundred dollars would cover everything and save a lot of hassle if something were to happen.

Rudy Maxa had predicted earlier in humor that airlines in future would be charging for amenities such as blankets and pillows too, which later came true.

According to Rudy Maxa airlines that charge for everything separately are more transparent than those that advertise lower costs without including other charges. Though the fare seems less initially, in the end, with the inclusion of surcharges or airline security charges, it turns out to be much more than expected.

Further on the show, Rudy Maxa also talks about his favorite place and the country that has the most beautiful women.
